The JEE main application is available from the 1st week of Dec. 2016.  The Last date of JEE Main 2017 Application Date Extended to 16th-Janurary-2017. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for admission into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The JEE mains exam is considered  as the minimum eligibility criteria for the JEE advanced level. The Exam is conducted in the month of April.

The JEE main paper results are considered during the admission into the various institution in India; whereas the JEE advance paper results are considered during the admission into various IITs, & IMS Dhanbad. JEE Main Exam Pattern:-

JEE Main exam patterns will help you to get an overview of the syllabus, Questions & format of papers before the exams. The candidates must refer the marking scheme, weight age etc. to understand the JEE Main Exam patterns.

  • There shall be no weight age for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in JEE main Exam.
  • For the candidates to qualify the admission in IIT/NITs and such CFTis whose admission are based on JEE ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in 12th OR be the top 20 percentile in respective State board exams.
  •  All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data.  In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be.

JEE Main 2017 Important Dates:-

The JEE Main exam dates will release in the month of November 2016. But the expected dates are mentioned below as per the previous year JEE main dates. As soon as it will release the information we will update the tables below.

JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria:-

The CBSE (Central Board of secondary Education) has made clear that it will grant admission to the candidates only if they fulfil the criteria mentioned by the CBSE. The Eligibility criteria for JEE main is mentioned below.

Number of Attempts for JEE Main: Each candidate is entitled to take JEE Main three times only.

Age Limit for JEE main:- The Candidate should not be born before 1 October 1992. However, SC/ST/PwD candidates are entitled to a relaxation of 5 years.

Education Qualification: Candidates should have passed qualifying examination either in 2014 or 2015. However, candidates who gave their 10+2 (or equivalent) exams in 2017 may also apply.
Apart from this, candidates must have had five subjects, which must include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects.

JEE Answer Key:-

The JEE main answer keys are released both officially & Unofficially. These JEE main answer keys will be available as offline & online. The Unofficial JEE main answer keys will be issued by various Institutes just after a few hours of the completion of examinations. Whereas the Official JEE main answer key will be later released by the JEE main committee.

JEE main results :-

The JEE main results will be declared in 2 phase. Phase one consists of scores of the candidates whereas Phase two will consists of the ranks of the candidates. The Dates of results will be announced when the Information brochure of JEE main 2017 is released .

The score of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the marking scheme of the JEE main 2017. However, the final score will be declared by the CBSE.  Also, the candidates should  download their score card as there is not any provision to deliver the scorecard via postal services.

JEE main Results for Rank:-

The JEE main result will depend on the normalisation procedure. The Rank will be calculated on the basis of the weight age of 60% from JEE score & 40% from the class 12th marks. If in case there is tie between two candidates then the following procedure will be followed:-

For B.E & B.Tech:-

  • Marks obtained in Mathematics. Candidates with higher marks will be allocated higher rank
  • Marks secured in Physics. Again, higher the marks, higher will be rank
  • Total normalised marks, in qualifying the exam. Candidates possessing higher marks will be allocated higher rank
  • If the issue is not resolved yet, the ratio of positive and negative answers marked in the exam will be defined. Candidate with higher absolute value will be allotted better rank

For B.Arch & B.Planning:- 

  • Marks obtain in Aptitude Test (in Paper-2) of JEE Main 2017. Higher the marks obtained, higher will be the rank
  • Next, the marks obtained in Drawing Test (in Paper-2) will be considered. Candidates with better marks will be allotted better rank
  • Total normalised marks, in qualifying the exam. Candidates possessing higher marks will be allocated higher rank
  • The ratio of positive and negative answers marked in the exam will be defined. Candidate with higher absolute value will be allotted better rank

JEE main Counselling:-

  • The counselling was held in online mode.
  • There were 4 rounds in it.
  • The counselling for IITs and ISM ended in first three rounds.
  • Almost 3000 seats were left, in NITs  + system, after the 4th Round of counselling. To fill these seats a special counselling  was held by CSAB.
