AFMC MBBS Admission 2017 – Armed Forces Medical College

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a Centre of Excellence for education and research. It was established in 1948 for postgraduate courses. The graduate wing for MBBS course was started in AFMC on 04 Aug 1962 with the aim of inducting medical graduates to the Armed Forces Medical Services. Presently the college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services.

AFMS Admission 2017:- The admission for the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune will be done through AIPMT/NEET 2017 Score.  The final result fo rthe admission will be done on the basis of NEET result & ToELR (Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning), Psychological assessment cum Interview.  The AFMC Exam admission will be done for the 130 seats of MBBS course.  From that 105 seats are reserved for the Boys & 25 seats for the girls. Approx 10 seats are reserved for the scheduled castes/scheduled tribes candidates.

The duration of MBBS course is 4 ½ years followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year. All medical cadets having service liability will undergo internship training in selected service hospitals recognized by the Medical Council of India. The course commences on 01 Aug 2017.

AFMC Admission 2017 MBBS :-

The AFMC Admission 2017 will be done on the basisi of NEET  & ToELR tests. The score obtained in AIPMT/NEET 2017 added to the ToELR score divided by 4 to get a score out of 200. AFMC MBBS 2017 Final score will be equals to written examination score + Interview marks (50 marks). All candidates eligible for AIPMT/NEET 201\ are also eligible for AFMC MBBS 2017 Admission irrespective of their state of domicile.

Eligibility Criteria for AFMC Exam 2017 :-

A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS Course in AFMC is eligible if he/she fulfills the following criteria:-

  1. A candidate should be citizen of India. Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian citizenship or in respect of whom the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a certificate of eligibility.
  2. Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.
  3. Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence
  4. There will be two categories for age criteria depending on academic qualifications.

AFMC Application form 2017 :-

The application form for the AFMC exam will be available in the month of  April & July for the NEET-1 & NEET-2  respectively. Only Online mode will be available for filling AFMC Application form, no other mode is available. The online registration for AFMC MBBS 2016 must be complete by candidates on or before last date of AFMC Application.  The application fee of AFMC MBBS 2017 is Rs. 250 (as on 2016) which can be remitted through SBI Bank challan.

AFMC MBBS Selection Procedure:-

The AFMC MBBS 2017 selection procedure is a two stage process. At first, candidates will be shortlisted for ToELR and interview on the basis of AIPMT/NEET 2017 score. The shortlisted candidates in order of online registration numbers will be called for Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR) and Psychological assessment cum Interview to be held in the month of July/August at AFMC, Pune.

ToELR will be a Computer Based Test consisting of 40 MCQs of 2.0 marks. There will be negative marks of 0.5 for every incorrect answer. The 40 questions will be required to be answered in 30 minutes. The marks obtained in ToELR will be added to NEET 2017 score (max of 720) to get a score out of 800. This will be divided by 4 to get the written examination score out of 200. The interview will consist of 50 marks. The final AFMC MBBS 2016 merit will be based on the Final score thus obtained in written examination score + interview marks OR AFMC Cutoff 2017 will be available soon.

Educational Qualification:-

Candidates must have passed one of the qualifying examinations listed below in the first attempt with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these three science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the tenth standard.

AFMC MBBS 2017 Result:

The result of AFMC MBBS 2017 will be declared in the month August. The examination authority will send admission call letters to all the selected candidates for MBBS course. The AFMC MBBS 2017 result cum merit list will also be published in leading national newspapers and on official website.
